Sanket Gaonkar is a Dance prodigy who won the Indian dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance six’ in the year 2017. He hails from the small town of Ankola, Karnataka This 1998 born dancer completed his studies in Bachelors in Science and pursued dance as a career. Being the winner of season six of the dance show, he gained a lot of popularity and praises all around the country as Dance India Dance is one of the biggest dance reality show in India.
The show got mentored by Mudassar khan, Marzi Pestorji, and Mini Pradhan. He got trained by Mini Pradhan and was in her team called “Mini Ke Master Blaster.” Amruta Khanvikar and Sahil Khattar hosted the show. Mithoon Chakraborty was the master judge. The success of Dance India Dance wasn’t the only achievement of his life; He was also one of the top finalists of the Telugu Dance Show on ETV called ‘Telugu’s Dhee Jodi in 2017. Be a trainer, choreographer or a dancer, Sanket has surpassed the level of Brilliancy in all the fields. He never got professional training from any dance academy but was trained by his uncle since the age of eight years. He watched videos on Youtube and other web portals and learned from them.
The breakout dance crew presented ‘Groove’ with Sanket as a performer and choreographer in Karwar. He also performed at the Murgaon Nagnik Shigmotsav Samiti’s event ‘Kalasangam’ in Vasco Da Gama, Goa. Being from Ankola, he came to be known as Ankola ka Wowkar and participated in the Ankola Utsav, showcasing the amazing dance moves. He was also part of the Goa ‘Showcase’ Search for junior and senior dancing superstar with the tagline ‘Step out of the ordinary.’
