Ankola, is a small town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state, India. It is located on the coast of the Arabian sea and natural beaches. The place is surrounded by temples, schools, paddy fields and mango and cashew groves.

Place also known as “Bardoli of Karnataka”Inspired by the Dandi March led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930, the freedom fighters in the town of Ankola in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka initiated a similar movement.

The act was followed by several arrests. However the patriotism and the spirit of defiance shown by leaders and people alike made Ankola a prominent center of the Civil Disobedience movement in South India, and over time it came to be known as “Bardoli of Karnataka”.

The town is situated at around 33 kms from Karwar  a port town, scenic beauty and cresent shaped Tagore Beach and 25 kms from Gokarna a temple town with beaches and pristine waters.
